What are line-level shipping and handling charges?

Line-level shipping and handling charges are an opt-in customization feature designed to help customers reconcile shipping and special handling charges when using Punchout and PDF invoicing or Punchout and e-invoicing with SAP Ariba and Coupa e-procurement systems. This new feature helps reduce manual reconciliation processes when transactions include shipping charges.

How does it work?

By submitting a request to their Amazon Business Account Executive, customers can add shipping charges and special handling charges at the line-item level in their purchase orders (POs). They can specify a customized UNSPSC code or, in Europe, ECLASS, for these charges. The system then automatically generates line-level PO documents and triggers corresponding Order Confirmation and Advanced Shipping Notice (ASN) documents.

For e-invoicing, the e-invoice document is customized to display line-level shipping and special handling charges. A prefix (e.g. SHIPPING FEE) is automatically added to the product description for these charges. To enable this feature for ordering or e-invoicing, contact your Account Executive.

Where is it available?

,Line-level shipping and special handling charges are available to SAP Ariba- and Coupa-enabled integrated customers in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Spain, Germany, Italy and Japan.
