Amazon Business has for many years partnered with leading e-procurement and spend management systems to enable organizations to shop our wide selection directly within the e-procurement systems they already use to automate and manage the purchasing of goods and services. These partnerships have enabled employees to browse, requisition, and purchase from Amazon Business through integrations while preserving their organization's approval workflows, spending controls, and cost center allocations. While these partnerships have enabled organizations to centrally manage and monitor spend, they’ve in many cases provided limited discovery capabilities or required users to switch back and forth between the e-procurement system and Amazon Business store when making a purchase.
Today, Amazon Business is making procurement meaningfully simpler, faster, and easier for customers by bringing an AI-powered end-to-end procurement experience into leading e-procurement systems. Working with select partners including Procurify and Lio, the new experience connects e-procurement systems directly with the Amazon Business store and search experience.
"Amazon’s vision is to make customers’ lives better and easier every day, and that includes business buyers who want professional grade selection, competitive pricing on built-for-business products, and simplified purchasing from start to finish," said Shelley Salomon, worldwide vice president of Amazon Business. "Bringing Amazon Business’s AI-powered end-to-end procurement experience into the e-procurement systems customers use to manage spend across their organizations enables them to quickly and easily find and buy the products they want from Amazon Business, so they can focus on driving toward their next stage of growth.”
This new experience bridges e-procurement systems and Amazon Business's broad selection and business pricing using agentic capabilities. With this new enhanced experience, participating e-procurement systems can securely exchange relevant context such as purchasing policies, budgets, order history, and product search information with Amazon Business, which in turn provides tailored product recommendations within a buyer's existing e-procurement system. The result is a streamlined e-procurement experience that helps buyers find the right products at the right price—all with the ease of a fast, simple product search experience within their existing procurement system.
A facilities buyer restocking breakroom supplies across three offices can describe what they need in their procurement tool. They see a curated set of products from Amazon Business with pricing, availability, delivery estimates, and volume discounts. The buyer can ask follow-up questions like:
They pick what they need and route the order in their existing business buying system.
The partnerships between Amazon Business and procurement include contract terms to provide a secure, trusted experience. Before any data is exchanged, Amazon Business and procurement system partners determine:
Organizations control what their buyers can access, and all procurement activities respect the guardrails the organization has already set.
To help establish a foundation for this type of integration at scale, Amazon Business is working with partners including SAP to lead the charter for a new UCP domain for B2B procurement.
This UCP vertical extension proposes a shared, open model for how organizations procure from suppliers through AI systems. It spans:
Rather than each integration independently modeling business identity, pricing, and policies, UCP envisions one shared model where participants reach multiple counterparties and contribute to an open roadmap. Amazon Business will work with procurement and spend management systems to develop this shared model around the needs of business buyers and suppliers.
The products and features described here are available only to Amazon Business customers in United States and may not be offered in other geographies. Availability is subject to change.
